Tariku Goa Shirko’s Biography
Mr. Tariku Goa Shirkos is a Bonga University lecturer in the field of plant breeding. He serves as an Instructor in the Department of Plant Science at Bonga University, where he applies his expertise in plant breeding and plant science to educate the next generation of agricultural scientists. His academic foundation includes a Master of Science in Plant Breeding from Wolaita Sodo University, where he specialized in the genetic improvement of crops. This advanced training followed the completion of his Bachelor of Science in Plant Science from Dilla University, which provided him with a comprehensive understanding of plant biology, physiology, and agricultural systems. His professional dedication is demonstrated through his active involvement in innovative teaching practices, the development of curricula and educational materials, research initiatives, and meaningful community engagement. He contributes as principal investigator of the research project titled ’’Enhancing banana (Musa spp.) protection, production, and propagation technologies of Bonga University’’. Besides to his academic experiences and project engagement, Mr. Tariku holds several professional certifications, including the Higher Diploma Program (HDP), English Language Improvement Center/Program (ELIC/ELIP), e-Learning for Strengthening Higher Education (e-SHE) and successfully completing a free online course smart English basics for professionals provided great learning Academy. He also participated in a training program on Grant Writing. Overall, Mr. Tariku Goa Shirko is a dedicated educator, serving as an instructor and mentor while actively contributing to curriculum design, community engagement, and impactful research. His work is consistently oriented toward exploring innovative, sustainable solutions aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and long-term sustainability.
