Biography
Dr. Wotnishet Haile is a distinguished public health professional and academic leader with extensive experience in teaching, research, and university administration. She holds a Master of Veterinary Public Health (MVPH) and has built a strong career dedicated to higher education, research excellence, and institutional development.
Dr. Wotnishet began her academic career as a lecturer at Mizan–Tepi University, where she served from 2015 to 2017. During this period, she contributed significantly to teaching and academic mentorship, laying a strong foundation for her future leadership roles in higher education.
Since 2018, Dr. Wotnishet has been serving Bonga University in various academic and administrative capacities. Her commitment, leadership skills, and professional competence have earned her several key appointments within the university. She has served as Quality Director, where she played a vital role in strengthening academic standards and quality assurance systems. She also served as Director of the Gonga People Study, contributing to research initiatives focused on local communities and indigenous knowledge.
In addition, Dr. Wotnishet held the position of Vice President for Research and Community Service, leading efforts to enhance research output, community engagement, and university–society linkages. Through this role, she promoted collaborative research and community-centered development programs.
Currently, Dr. Wotnishet Haile serves as the Vice President for Administrative Office of Bonga University, where she oversees administrative functions and supports the effective management and strategic development of the institution. Her leadership continues to play a crucial role in advancing the university’s mission and operational excellence.
