Biography
Academic Journey:
Asrat's academic foundation is a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology. He then specialized with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Ecology and Systematic Zoology. Currently, he is advancing to the highest level as a Ph.D. candidate in Wildlife Ecology and Management at Jimma University.
Professional Path:-his career in higher education spans over 13 years. It began with 5 formative years as a lecturer at Bonga College of Teacher Education, where he developed core teaching methodologies. This was followed by over 8 years of service at Bonga University, where he has excelled as a Lecturer and Researcher. He now leads as the Head of the Biology Department, guiding the department's strategic direction while integrating his specialized research in wildlife ecology into both the curriculum and institutional research goals. This trajectory from a broad biological foundation to specialized ecological research and academic leadership demonstrates a deep, sustained commitment to science education and conservation in Ethiopia.
