Biography
Dr. Yacob Asfaw Gebre is an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Medicine at Bonga University. He accomplished academic and veterinary professional with a strong foundation in animal health and genetics. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Gondar, graduating with High Distinction, a reflection of his exceptional academic performance and professional promise.
Driven by a passion for advancing animal science, Dr. Yacob Asfaw pursued postgraduate training at Mizan Tepi University, where he completed his Master of Science in Animal Genetics and Breeding with High Distinction. His graduate work was crowned by an excellent master’s thesis, demonstrating rigorous scholarship, analytical depth, and a commitment to evidence based research.
Building on this strong academic trajectory, Dr. Yacob joined Bonga University in 2025 GC as an Assistant Professor in the College of Agriculture, Department of Veterinary Medicine. In this role, he is dedicated to teaching, research, and community engagement, with a particular focus on improving animal productivity, genetic improvement, and sustainable livestock development.
