Biography
I am Monenus Feyissa, a PhD candidate in Sociology at Jimma University, Ethiopia. I hold an MA in Sociology (Urban and Industrial Sociology) from Wollega Universityin 2018 and a BA in History and Heritage Management from Wolaita Sodo University in 2011. I have over 11 years of academic and professional experience, including four years as a lecturer and researcher at Bonga University, where I taught multiple sociology courses and developed several modules. My interest research focuses on urbanization, development, livelihoods, migration, social transformation, and disaster risk reduction. I am experienced in community-based and participatory research, student supervision, course development, and community engagement. Through my PhD work, I aim to contribute evidence-based insights to policy and development initiatives in Ethiopia.
