Biography

Tigest Demissei is a Lecturer in Economics at Bonga University, Ethiopia, where she has been teaching since 2019. She holds a Master of Science in Economics with specialization in Development Economics from Mizan-Tepi University, graduating with distinction (GPA 4.00/4.00), and a Bachelor of Economics from Bahir Dar University. Her academic training is complemented by professional certifications in research methodology, statistical software applications, and higher diploma programs in pedagogy. Her research interests broadly focus on development economics, environmental and natural resource economics, agricultural economics, and policy-oriented economic analysis.

In her academic career, Ms. Tigist has taught a wide range of undergraduate courses including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Research Methods, Development Economics, Environmental Economics, and Project Planning and Analysis. She has actively supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research, examined theses and seminar presentations, and provided academic advising and mentorship to students. Her teaching approach emphasizes analytical rigor, applied research, and the use of empirical evidence to address real-world economic challenges.

Beyond teaching, Ms. Tigist has engaged in consultancy and applied research, including work on forest landscape and climate resilience projects in collaboration with NABU Ethiopia.
