Biography
Dr. Ginjo Gitima is a dedicated expert and researcher at Bonga University, with a focus on physical Geography and Natural Resource management. He obtained his Master of Science in Geography and Environmental Studies, specializing in Sustainable Natural Resource Management from Dilla University and completed his Ph.D. degree in Geography and Environmental Studies, specializing in Natural Resource and Environmental Management at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He has published more than ten articles in peer-reviewed and indexed scientific journals. His research areas include sustainable land management, forest resource management, biodiversity conservation, land use/land cover (LULC) change, soil erosion modeling and assessment, soil and water conservation practices, applications of Geographic Information System, and Remote Sensing in natural resource management, climate change assessment and modeling, disaster risk management and human-environment relationships. His research emphasizes developing solutions that enhance ecological resilience, empower community-led sustainable resource management, and integrate conservation with social equity for mutual environmental and community benefits.
