Biography
My name is Tessema Ankilo Tigicho. I am the Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Bonga University. I was born in Damot Gale Woreda, Wolaita Zone, in 1981 G.C. I graduated from the then Awassa College of Teacher Education in Diploma with Geography major in 2000 G.C. I upgraded my education and received my Bed degree in Geography and Environmental Studies in 2006 G.C. from Jimma University. In 2016 I achieved my MA degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Addis Ababa University.
By profession, I am an environmental resources analyst. As a result, I work as both a lecturer and a researcher in this field at the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, Bonga University.
As a lecturer, I have taught for nine years at the then Bonga College of Teacher Education in the department of Geography and Environmental Studies—now Bonga College of Education. I also have been teaching courses related to climate change, biodiversity, natural resources conservation management, and utilization here at Bonga University. I am certified in a higher diploma program and completed ELIC. Additionally, I have some nine years of teaching experience in primary to secondary schools.
As a researcher, I carried out research teamwork published in an international journal entitled "Green Farming: Practice of Agroforestry as Response to Climate Variability and Strategy for Farm Income Diversification in Kafa Zone, Southwest Ethiopia."
