Biography
Mr. Mihiretu Birhanu Degebo is an Ethiopian lecturer and mentor in the field of English Language Education, specializing in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). He earned his Master of Arts in TEFL from Wollo University and his Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Wolaita Sodo University. Currently, Mr. Mihiretu serves as a faculty member in the Department of English Language and Literature at Bonga University. In this role, he teaches undergraduate English courses, mentors students, prepares curricula and instructional materials, and undertakes various academic and departmental responsibilities. With over twelve (12) years of teaching experience at secondary, preparatory, and university levels, Mr. Mihiretu has developed strong pedagogical skills across diverse educational contexts. He is deeply committed to effective language instruction, learner-centered pedagogy, professional development, and academic excellence. His dedication to English language education is further reflected in his engagement in innovative teaching practices, curriculum and material development, research-related activities, and community service. Through these efforts, he contributes to the academic, professional, and social development of students and the wider educational community. In addition to his academic qualifications, Mr. Mihiretu holds several professional certifications, including the Higher Diploma Program (HDP), English Language Improvement Center/Program (ELIC/ELIP), and e-Learning for Strengthening Higher Education (e-SHE).
