Biography

My full name is Getachew Roba Agegnew. I was born on Pagume
2, 1980 E.C., Sep 9, 1988 G.C., in Bullen woreda kebele 02, which is located in the Metekel zone, Benishangul Gumuz Republic Region. In relation to my education and professional background, I completed my elementary and secondary education at Bullen Secondary and Preparatory School. As a result, I went to Dilla University to earn a BA in psychology. Later, I went to Jimma University to pursue an MA in counseling psychology, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in counseling psychology there.
In terms of my professional background, I was a counselor at Liwaye Secondary School in the Amhara region. Following that, I enrolled in Bishaw W/Yohannes Secondary and Preparatory School in Kaffa Zone, Bonga Town. In addition, I have worked as a psychology instructor at Bonga College of Education, and I am currently working at Bonga University.

Research Focus

 Mental Health Issues: Studying psychological distress
depression
and other mental disorders in the community  Substance Use: Researching the prevalence and factors associated with the use of psychoactive substances like Khat and alcohol among students and the general population.  Community Health and Behavior: Assessing community awareness and practices regarding their life  Social Issues: Investigating topics like perceived discrimination among ethnic minority students
dating-related abuse
intimate partner violence
and work-related stress among professionals.
