Biography

This letter is written to present Dr. Monenus Etefa, a dedicated veterinary professional and academician with extensive experience in veterinary medicine, public health, research, and academic leadership.

Dr. Monenus Etefa is a graduate of Addis Ababa University, where he earned the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2015. He later specialized in Veterinary Public Health at Jimma University, completing his postgraduate studies in 2021 with excellent academic performance.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Monenus has actively participated in numerous national and international trainings, workshops, and symposiums across multidisciplinary areas. These include, but are not limited to, scientific paper and grant writing, systematic review and advanced research methodology, public entrepreneurship and innovative ecosystem building, grant management, data science fundamentals, and Geographic Information System (GIS). These engagements have significantly strengthened his academic, research, and professional competencies.

Dr. Monenus has accumulated more than seven years of professional experience as a field veterinarian, academician, and leadership positions. He served for over four years as a field veterinarian before transitioning into academia. He has held key leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, and is currently appointed as Coordinator for International Relations and Partnerships for Academic Affairs.

At present, Dr. Monenus serves as an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Public Health at Bonga University. He is recognized as a hardworking, visionary, enthusiastic, and highly motivated professional. His leadership style is characterized by effective coordination, strong teamwork, and the ability to foster a collaborative and productive working environment among colleagues and staff.

Dr. Monenus has conducted and supervised several research projects in the fields of Veterinary Medicine and Public Health. In addition, some grant-funded research projects are currently underway under his supervision. He possesses solid experience in research design, data analysis, and interpretation using statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, and R programming.
