Warm greeting from Forestry department head!!!
As the Head of the Forestry Department, I would like to express both our commitment and our aspiration as we continue to strengthen the quality of forestry education and training. At present, our department faces a significant challenges. E.g. we lack adequate practical tools and essential equipment needed to successfully train our students in forest resource assessment and related field-based competencies. These limitations affect our ability to deliver the hands-on, experiential learning that is fundamental to producing skilled forestry professionals.
Despite these challenges, our vision remains strong. With the growing importance of sustainable natural resource management, we are preparing to expand our academic offerings. We have a keen interest in opening MSc programs in Forest Production and Agroforestry, as these areas are critical for enhancing productivity, resilience, and sustainability across forested landscapes. In addition, we aspire to launch a PhD program in Forest Ecology, which will foster advanced research, innovation, and scientific leadership in understanding and managing forest ecosystems.
