As Head of the Midwifery Department at Bonga University, College of Health Sciences, I warmly welcome our students, faculty, and partners. Our program is dedicated to producing competent, ethical, and compassionate midwives who can meet Ethiopia’s maternal and newborn health needs.
We align our training with WHO recommendations, the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) Global Standards and Essential Competencies, and the Ministry of Health’s national midwifery education and service standards. Our curriculum follows a competency-based approach that integrates theory, simulation, and supervised clinical practice to prepare students for safe, evidence-based, and respectful maternity care.
We also adhere to Ministry of Education quality assurance and higher education policies to ensure academic excellence and relevance. Our graduates are supported and prepared to successfully meet national exit and licensure examination requirements.
Together, we remain committed to strengthening midwifery education, advancing professional standards, and improving maternal and newborn health outcomes in our region.
Sincerely,
Sintayehu Bezabih Bekele (BSc, MSc)
