It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Kafi Noonoo within the College of Social Sciences. I extend warm greetings to all students, faculty, partners, and community members dedicated to advancing knowledge, preserving culture, and strengthening community engagement.
Our department offers undergraduate programs through regular, weekend, and summer modalities, ensuring flexible learning opportunities. Alongside teaching, we actively engage in community service by providing support and practical solutions to challenges related to teaching and learning in Kafi Noonoo. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, research leadership, and social impact, we continue to be a center of quality education.
The department was established to promote, develop, and preserve the Kafi Noonoo language, literature, and cultural heritage. We work to produce competent educators, researchers, and cultural experts who contribute meaningfully to the development of the Kafa community. In addition to language and literature studies, we emphasize contemporary fields such as multilingualism, cross-cultural communication, mass communication, and public relations to equip students with relevant and practical skills.
Our objective is to prepare highly qualified professionals for careers in research, public relations, media, translation, editing, and the arts. We coordinate and strengthen research in Kafi Noonoo language, linguistics, literature, and folklore, ensuring the preservation and advancement of cultural knowledge. The department also leads and participates in community-based projects to support cultural development and social transformation.
We conduct trainings and workshops aimed at modernizing and promoting the language, while contributing to its standardization through ongoing research. Our high-quality courses equip students with the competencies needed for diverse professional pathways.
