The forum was opened by the President of Bonga University, Dr. Degela Ergano, who delivered a welcoming message to the guest of honor, Honorable Mr. Almau Zewde (Head of the South West Ethiopia Peoples' Region Education Bureau), members of the Bonga University Managing Board, and the families of the graduates.
In his brief performance report, the Honorable President highlighted the 100% passing rate of this year's Pharmacy Department graduates as a major achievement. Beyond teaching-learning and research activities, the President also detailed numerous community service projects undertaken by Bonga University. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to various partner institutions, including Gebretsadik Shawo General Hospital, for their contribution to the students' success before inviting the guest of honor to the podium.
In his message to the graduates, the guest of honor, Honorable Mr. Almau Zewde, specifically noted that today's Pharmacy graduates are the university's first batch (pioneers) in that field and shared his admiration for their success. He expressed his special respect for the many activities being carried out at the university. He added that the Region stands by the university with all possible support for the upcoming International Coffee Research Conference, which is being organized by the university for the first time this year.
Following this, the Main Registrar of Bonga University, Dr. Mulugeta Shiferaw, presented the data of the candidate graduates and invited the Deans of the respective colleges to present the candidates for graduation before the guest of honor, the University Board members, and the Senate.
The awarding of medals and trophies was another part of the program, with prizes presented to the winners by the guest of honor, Managing Board members, the University President, and Vice Presidents.
Finally, the Deputy Chairperson of the Bonga University Managing Board, Honorable Prof. Kifle Woldemichael, delivered a keynote message to the graduates. In his remarks, he emphasized to the Pharmacy graduates that they did not graduate for themselves alone, urging them to make it a culture to serve their patients with absolute compassion beyond just medical treatment. He reminded them that "human life is always in your hands," and they must strive to continuously empower themselves through lifelong learning.
Stating that "our country, Ethiopia, expects a lot from you," Prof. Kifle Woldemichael thanked everyone who contributed to today's success. The program concluded with the collective singing of the Ethiopian National Anthem.
