Bonga University Holds Discussion on “Family Covenant” with Council and Students

Today, a wide-ranging discussion and explanatory session on the topic of the “Family Covenant” was conducted under the national framework. The event was opened by Mr. Terefe Ha/ Mariam, Head of the Office of the President of Bonga University, who highlighted the importance of such forums, emphasizing their role in promoting social and national unity.

Dr. Atnafu Asfaw, Director of the University’s Directorate of Community Engagement and Technology Systems, provided an in-depth explanation about the purpose, principles, implementation, and beneficiaries of the “Family Covenant,” addressing relevant issues comprehensively.

Following the presentation, participants raised various questions and shared comments. Representatives, particularly from different Bonga community organizations, expressed their satisfaction in contributing to this significant national initiative. They also acknowledged Bonga University’s role as a model of peace, stating that participation in such programs brings pride and joy to the local and broader communities.

It was also clarified that family members willing to support and accept students as their own can obtain identification for community membership free of charge, highlighting the inclusive and voluntary nature of the program.

Finally, Dr. Woynshet Haile, Deputy President for Administration and Development at Bonga University, reiterated appreciation for the respectful and willing participation of students, recognizing their role in fostering a caring and supportive environment. Participants were thanked for their contributions, which helped make the discussion a success.
