Dr. Degela Ergeno, President of Bonga University, has conveyed a message of "Happy Holiday" to all followers of the Christian faith on the occasion of Ketera and Epiphany.
In his message of good wishes, the Honorable President noted that Epiphany is a symbol of humility; by descending into the Jordan River to be baptized by John the Baptist, Jesus Christ taught the whole world the true meaning of humility and greatness.
He emphasized that as we celebrate this holiday, we should do so by demonstrating this same spirit of humility through our actions.
The President further highlighted that Timkat is one of Ethiopia's most magnificent public festivals, one the nation takes great pride in on the global stage. Its registration as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural World Heritage site serves to promote our country prominently to the international community.
Beyond its religious significance, Epiphany carries immense potential for the national image.
Therefore, because its role in showcasing Ethiopia's positive image to the world is so significant, it holds a special meaning for all Ethiopians.
In conclusion, the Honorable President expressed his wishes for the holiday to be a season of peace, joy, and mutual care for one another.
Once again, Happy Holiday!
Together we can!
