Bonga University Administrative Board Evaluates Semi-Annual Performance Report

The Bonga University Administrative Board, chaired by Professor Afework Kassu, conducted a review meeting attended by the University President, Dr. Degela Ergeno, and other senior leadership members of the institution.

The discussion focused on a detailed report of the university’s successful half-year performance across teaching-learning, research, and community engagement sectors.

During the session, various stakeholders noted that the progress achieved thus far is commendable. It was emphasized that the continued role of all stakeholders is vital to sustaining and strengthening these positive outcomes.

Key Highlights and Decisions:

  • Policy Approval: A new directive designed to transform research projects into active business enterprises was presented, discussed, and unanimously approved.

  • Income Generation: The Board decided that university research projects will now operate under an internal income-generating framework, and a dedicated budget for these projects was ratified.

  • Path to Autonomy: Board members expressed their appreciation for the approval of the enterprise transition directive, noting that it will be a cornerstone for the university’s future journey toward institutional autonomy.
